REJ603 3.0 Self-powered Protection Relay

Description

REJ603 3.0 is a self-powered feeder protection relay, intended for the protection of utility substations and industrial power systems in secondary distribution networks. It is a member of ABB’s Relion® product family and part of its 605 series. Designed to be part of Ring Main Units (RMU) and secondary distribution switchgears, this self-powered numerical relay gets power from the main current transformers. So, it's an excellent option for installations lacking auxiliary supplies, like unmanned distribution substations. It also has an add-on optional function of remote trip through binary input with the selection of an auxiliary power version.

Product Benefits

  • High suitability of operation with low-energy trip coils
  • Built-in hand-reset electromechanical flag
  • Powering through the front USB port eliminates the need for a built-in battery and allows access to events/fault information when CT power is unavailable
  • Speedy commissioning through the selective test function for protection functions and binary output contacts, including test trips to the circuit breaker
  • Fault analysis with event log/disturbance record facility (3.0 variant)
  • Extensive self-supervision of relay hardware and software

Product Features

  • Used in cable or transformer feeders in solidly earthed, resistance-earthed or isolated networks where auxiliary power is unavailable or cannot be guaranteed
  • Non-directional overcurrent, earth-fault protections, thermal overload protection, inrush current detection, remote trip, and measurements
  • Low-energy trip output and bi-stable outputs to trip the circuit breaker
  • Disturbance records can be downloaded from the front USB port. The USB port can also power up the relay using a desktop, laptop PC, or power bank when auxiliary supply is absent. Relay functions are available through USB powering even without current input (3.0 variant)
  • Designed for Ring Main Unit (RMU) and compact switchgear
